Rumours of James Rodriguez wanting compatriot and Tottenham centre back Davinson Sanchez at Everton have been doing the rounds.

With 62 days still remaining for the transfer window to open, the rumour mill has already started and is bringing some fascinating transfer links to Everton. This time around, the Toffees have been linked to Tottenham Hotspur defender Davinson Sanchez.

Rumours of James Rodriguez wanting compatriot Sanchez have been reported. According to Don Balon (via Football Fancast), the Colombian playmaker has made his wish known to Ancelotti to see Sanchez at Goodison. The report further claimed that Ancelotti had given him permission to play agent to lure 24 year old by talking about the benefits of life in Merseyside.

Don Balon are highly unreliable with some of the most ridiculous claims such as PSG following Ansu Fati, Pedri and Vinicius Junior to replace Neymar and Kylian Mbapper who are exit bound.

Even though Ancelotti and Rodriguez share a close relationship, the assertion that James has demanded the signing of Sanchez is a bit of a stretch.

The 29 year old has just begun his Everton career and doesn’t have such influence on the club board to make signings. Nor is he in a place where club board will come to consult with him over transfers.

It is true that James Rodriguez has somewhat revolutionized the Toffees with his displays on the field, often controlling the tempo of the game for the Royal Blues. The Hollywood signing has been lauded as an instant hit by the fans and pundits. Whatever, the case he simply doesn’t command that much power in the dressing room that he can have a say in the transfer matters.

The report further mentions that Sanchez, a mainstay in the Tottenham defence, wants to wait until the end of the season to decide over his future. The 24 year old is a big name in the League and the Merseysiders’ eye-catching start to the season could be one of the reasons why such rumours have been birthed.
