Everton have an abundance of all-round talent in their squad giving the team a real chance to win something in the next few seasons.

Everton have one of the biggest group of talent that they’ve had since their title-winning sides in the 1980s. Players like Richarlison, Lucas Digne, Allan and Doucoure are all fantastic footballers and could definitely contribute to a Premier League title or Champions League football.

First is Brazilian international and pigeon lover Richarlison. The signing of Richarlison was questioned by the football world at first as Everton paid £35 million which could rise to £50 million, but Richarlison has shown his quality to Evertonians and the rest of the football world.

His value was underlined when it was rumoured in January that Everton rejected an £85 million from footballing giants Barcelona for his services. Richy is going to be key to Everton’s hopes of winning a title due to how important he is to the attack.

The lack of Richarlison has shown in Everton’s two previous losses, especially in the Southampton game, as the Toffees struggle to create chances for Calvert-Lewin without Richarlison because they lacked his flair and ability to create space.

Without him Everton have a lack of speed and technical ability on that left side. Richarlison also has that finishing touch which is shown by his 13 goals last season in the Premier League.

The next player has arguably made a case for being one of the best left-backs in world football due to the performances he’s put in over his previous 2 seasons at the club – Lucas Digne.

Digne was the clear heir to Leighton Baines when he started putting in fantastic performances for the Toffees after he joined in August 2018 and was a key contributor for Everton in our previous season picking up 7 assists while also providing defensive solidarity on that left-hand side.

Digne has shown an ability to be a defensive leader for Everton, he also has fantastic crossing ability and could’ve been Jordi Alba’s replacement at Barcelona, but the Catalan side’s loss is the Merseyside outfit’s gain as Digne has been Everton’s best player since he joined the club.

At 27-years old Digne still has plenty of time to contribute and clearly loves the club which is shown by how much passion the Frenchman plays with.

One of the signings that rebuilt Everton’s stagnant midfield is that of Brazilian pitbull Allan. The former Napoli man was fantastic for Carlo Ancelotti in Naples and has continued that in Liverpool where he’s had a great start to the season.

Allan is the protection in front of the defence, he’s fantastic in the tackle and has great dribbling ability, allowing him to drive the ball up the field and play it into one of Everton’s attacking threats.

The Brazilian is a bit rash and has a tendency to dive into tackles but his passion and belief in the team and manager Carlo Ancelotti is obvious and is the fire the side need in midfield to be able to succeed. Allan is currently 29 which gives Everton a shorter window of success, but he’s got the quality to get big results for Everton and control the midfield.

The final player I want to talk about is the other player Everton signed to rebuild their midfield and that’s Abdoulaye Doucoure. The £22 million man was a key player in Watford, helping them to an upset FA Cup final and multiple years in the Premier League.

While he hasn’t been as good as he was at Watford for the Toffees so far, his talent is clear and he’s another player who seems to play for the badge instead of his own pockets. Doucoure is more of an attacking threat than Allan he has a great passing range and also a very adept dribbler.

He likes to get forward and get involved in the attack which can be very helpful for an Everton team which previously lacked attacking threats besides Richarlison and Calvert-Lewin. His physical frame also makes him a naturally gifted defender, able to win the ball and create attacking scenarios from deep in midfield showing his ability as a box to box midfielder.
