Here are the Everton player ratings for the game against Manchester United.

Everton’s honeymoon start to the season is well and truly over with the Toffees succumbing to a third successive defeat after a highflying start to the season. The red of Republican Party dwindled against the blue of President-elect Joe Biden and the Democrats but the red of Manchester United certainly dominated the proceedings at Goodison Park.

There is no running away from the fact that Everton were unimpressive. The two defeats before the Manchester United game could be believed to be a result of lack of quality first team players available. Against the Red Devils, Everton almost had a full strength eleven available yet couldn’t extract the maximum out of the game.

Everton in free-fall after latest loss. light. Match Review

Bernard, coming in for Richarlison at the left wing, looked vibrant and even scored the opener but things spiralled downwards after the Everton’s goal. The defence lacked shape and seemed that they were socially distancing from one another. Dominic Calvert-Lewin was deprived of any real service.

Here are the Everton player ratings:

Jordan Pickford – 5

Pickford made a return to the starting lineup after being dropped out in favour of Robin Olsen last week. One can’t blame Pickford for the goals he conceded but his decision making can still be scrutinized. Pickford narrowly escaped giving away a penalty trying to cover up for a mistake. Olsen did a spectacular job last weekend and needs to be brought back between the sticks.
