Everton defender Mason Holgate had a forgetful return to the team.

Defence:

Seamus Coleman – 5.5

Seamus Coleman returned to the team after missing 2 games. He was brutally exposed defensively at times and failed to break down the Manchester United attacks originating from the right hand side. Eventually, Coleman grew into the game and displayed some decent overlapping runs and attacking intent.

Mason Holgate – 5

Not a return Mason Holgate would have imagined. The young centre back returned to the team after 2 months since suffering the toe injury against Preston North End. Especially, in the first half, Holgate looked out of touch, was positionally poor. He eventually got better in the second half but the damage had already been done.

light. Trending. Everton target Arkadiusz Milik will be sold in January, but there’s a catch

Michael Keane – 5

The two goals Everton conceded in the first half were a result of the defensive blunders of the centre backs. Michael Keane needs to be criticized as much as Holgate. The Englishman laced the air dominance he’s known for.

Lucas Digne – 6

Lucas Digne had a decent game in every department except for the area he has his expertise in: ball delivery. He overcooked some of the crosses and made very late deliveries in the box. His energetic runs down the left flank were a joy to watch and even combined well with Bernard.
