PSG are plotting to seal a permanent deal for on-loan Everton striker Moise Kean according to reports in the media today.

Reports doing the rounds in the European media today claim that the French giants aren’t content with just a one-year loan deal for the Everton youngster and want to keep him for good at the Parc Du Princes.

Kean has settled in immediately and been in great form since his unexpected move across the channel to the French champions.

The Italian international has netted regularly for his new club and has already scored about as many goals with PSG in just a few matches as in his entire time so far at Everton. He looks as though he is very happy in his new surroundings.

He has had a tough time in England since his arrival last summer and it looked like he was struggling to settle in.

I always felt that he needed a bit more confidence shown in him and some regular games before we could make a definitive judgement on the player. Well he’s had that in Paris and it seems to be working for him.

There’s been much talk about what will happen at the end of the season if Kean continues to perform as well throughout the campaign as he has so far.

Carlo Ancelotti has reiterated that he expects and wants his fellow countryman to return to Goodison Park ready to resume his Toffees career next season.

Now though the French champions are indicating their determination to try and turn his last-minute loan into a permanent move.

I’ve previously written that given that fact the Blues allowed the former Juventus striker to go on loan just before the transfer window closed and didn’t get another forward in, was a mistake.

Since then events have underlined how vulnerable the team is if one or other of their first-choice forwards were out of the side. James Rodriguez’s injury problems and Richarlison’s three-game suspension has hugely exposed the lack of options and depth in the squad.

Having Kean wouldn’t have been enough to replace the Brazilian, no one in the current squad can, but it would at least have given Ancelotti another forward option to play alongside Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

As it is the Toffees boss has ended up trying different combinations of players all without much success. The fact he hasn’t given youngsters like Anthony Gordon a chance, seems to indicate a profound lack of confidence in his existing options.

Although Everton seem to be expecting their 20-year-old forward to be back in the summer. If he and PSG are determined to make the loan permanent it will be more difficult for the Blues to force a return and end up with an unhappy and potentially disruptive player. So they may end up having to cut their losses on him.
