Juventus to make an attempt to sign wanted Everton target
Juventus is once again going to make an attempt to sign Everton target Arkadiusz Milik.
The Arkadiusz Milik soap opera has begun once again. The Polish striker failed to secure a move away from Napoli the summer transfer window. AS Roma, Tottenham Hotspur, Everton and Juventus had been linked a deal never materialized due to Gli Azzurri’s uncompromising demands.
Napoli wanted £25 million for a player who was already into the final 12 months of his contract. Milik has been deserted and left out of the squad as he continues his search for a new club. With the January transfer window coming soon, the talk of a transfer have already begun.
Napoli are adamant on not letting Milik leave on a free transfer next summer and will try to sell him as they are in need of liquidity. The 26 year old is desperate to engineer a move in order to keep his hopes alive for Euro 2021 and more importantly play regular football again.
According to a report from CalcioNapoli24, Juventus are looking to strike a swap deal with Napoli as the Old Lady prepare to send Federico Bernardeschi to Naples. The Italian winger has fallen down the pecking order, playing 114 minutes so far. However, this move would make much sense for the Gli Azzuri as the team is well stacked with Hirving Lozano and Matteo Politano on the right wing.

As for Milik, another report from the same publication states that the player’s entourage and the Neapolitans are trying to work out a compromise as Napoli do not intend to let the Pole go for a cheap price.
Everton, AS Roma, Juventus are all in the hunt to sign Milik. At the moment Everton have Dominci Calvert-Lewin and Cenk Tosun in the striking department. There were whispers of Tosun going back to Turkey with Besiktas president Ahmet Nur Cebi issuing a transfer plea to bring the Turk back to Super Lig. However, the 29 year old striker is still keen to remain at Goodison.
If Everton do go for Milik, eyeing a cut price deal, a departure of Tosun is necessary. There’s no point in keeping him as a third choice striker. Napoli are too stubborn when it comes to transfer fees. Their obstinate attitude could cost them as they risk losing the 26 year old on a free transfer.
Napoli demanded £25 million in the summer transfer window and no matter what, they’ll have to lower their demands in January. As for Everton, if they are really interested in bringing Milik to Merseyside, they’ll have a lot of competition to tackle.
