Alex Iwobi shredded Sierra Leone’s defence with 2 strikes, one of them being an absolute wonder strike.

Iwobi was able to really impress for the Super Eagles as he was the key player that helped them take a 4-0 lead against Sierra Leone within the first 30 minutes, and even though the quality of opponent he was playing against was questionable, and the final result was abysmal, none of that can go onto Alex who shined when given time as a key playmaker on a team.

His second goal especially was an eye-opener, beautifully placing it into the top corner from around 30-yards out to put Nigeria 3-0 up, but after the fourth goal the wheels fell off for Iwobi and the Nigerian national team, as Sierra Leone were able to score 4 unanswered goals which lead to the game ending 4-4.

It’s hard to talk too much about this game as the stats are very hard to find, but it’s clear from what I’ve been able to watch that Iwobi was Nigeria’s best player in this game, and he’d have received higher than an 8 if Nigeria were able to win the game, because it seems like he went quiet after he scored his 2 goals.
