Everton are said to be interested in Real Madrid players Isco and Mariano Diaz.

It seems as though Real Madrid has become Everton’s hunting ground recently with the Toffees getting linked to out of favour Real players. Firstly, James Rodriguez arrived at Goodison in the summer after being regarded as surplus to requirements by Los Blancos.

James’ arrival at Merseyside coupled with his reunification with Carlo Ancelotti has seen the Colombian bring his career back on track. Now, there two more Real Madrid players have been linked with a move to Merseyside.

The Isco transfer links have picked up pace despite Ancelotti’s denial and terming it as a rumour. Increasing reports everyday suggests that an Isco exit is highly possible and Everton are one of the favourites to land the Spaniard. Marca reported that Isco is ready to leave Bernabeu and Zinedine Zidane won’t come in the way of the sale.

Everton have failed to find a midfielder who can take some chance creation pressure off Rodriguez. Allan and Doucoure have different roles but the idea behind having Gylfi Sigurdsson and Andre Gomes in the team was to use their technical abilities in the final third supplementing the attack. However, the Siggurdsson’s and Gomes’ helplessness to aid the attack may force Everton to go into the market and bring another midfielder.

Isco seems to be a right choice. The right footed player is known to be a patient buildup player capable of unlocking defences with exquisite passing. Everton cannot miss out on a player of Isco’s calibre especially when he’s available for cut price of £18 million.

However, it seems that the Toffees are aiming a double raid on Real Madrid. According to Spanish publication Sport, Real Madrid striker Mariano Diaz is being followed by Everton and a host of other clubs.

Diaz has never been a first team regular but has always fought for his place in the team. He also refused a move away last summer to Benfica and continue to work to convince Zidane. However, it is now getting clear that Diaz may not be able to achieve his dreams of shining for the Merengues.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s backup Cenk Tosun has done very little to support his case. The links to Arkadiusz Milik hint at Everton’s search for a new striker to act as DCL’s backup. Milik is also being wooed by Inter Milan, AS Roma and Tottenham Hotspur. Diaz presents an alternative to Milik.

The Hispanic Dominican possesses skills to excel in the Premier League. His off the ball movement and the ability to turn quickly gives him the edge over defenders. His speed driven shooting gives headaches to goalkeepers and has remains a constant threat in the box.

Mariano pockets €4 million a year but is ready to take a pay cut if his playing demands are fulfilled. Everton can strike a double transfer swoop and sign Diaz and Isco from Real Madrid.
