Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored a brace today.

Attack:

James Rodriguez – 7

James Rodriguez had a brilliant first half. The Colombian grew into the game and once he was in control, he threaded some exquisite passes in the buildup to the second and third Everton goals. However, the intensity dropped in the second half, failing to create much impact. It was not a performance that would leave you in awe of the Colombian playmaker.

After a point, the 29 year old ran out of gas because of a hectic week playing for club and country and travelling around 5000 miles. He was taken off in the 74th minute.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin – 8

We previously saw DCL score some brilliant headers but today we saw how ruthless he is instinctively. The 23 year old was in the right place at the right time. It’s remarkable how Calvert-Lewin has been able to sustain such a high level of productivity which clearly shows how much he’s grown as a player. He currently leads the golden boot race, a testimony of his supreme goalscoring form.

Must Read. Here’s why Everton could still sign Isco despite Ancelotti shutting down the rumours. light

Forget his goalscoring or his movement in the box, DCL’s movement off the ball, hold up play has been excellent.

Richarlison – 7

A much needed return for Everton. The Brazilian has simply been magnificent for the Royal Blues. His absence in 3 games was massively felt and upon return, Richarlison showed exactly what Everton missed. The Brazilian is guilty of missing a sitter after Digne cut back. His influence is evident and his return should be a sigh of relief for everyone in the Everton camp.

Substitutions:

Tom Davies – 6

Gylfi Sigurdsson – 5
