Everton missed the clinical finishing in the final third.
Attack:
James Rodriguez – 6.5
The creative onus of the team was once again carried out by who other than James Rodriguez. The Colombian looked strong throughout the game and had the ability to cut the Leeds defence and make them bleed. However, the impact in the final third let the team down.
To see his lethal finish get ruled out for a off side was a pity but that is how dangerous the 29 year old can be if presented the opportunity to bury the ball past the keeper. His deliveries were as always breathtaking but failed to find a goal.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin – 5.5
There were at least 2 opportunities where Dominic Calvert-Lewin could have scored and was almost one on one with a defender. He has had an unbelievable run of form and in such situations you expect the 23 year old to score. Probably instead of just running wide, DCL could have cut inside and leave the defender in an awkward position. Maybe this is the next developmental phase as a striker that he will go through.
Richarlison – 5
Richarlison just didn’t turn up against Leeds United. Apart from a flurry late in the first half there was nothing optimistic about the Brazilian’s performance. Usually, the very hard working Richarlison was not able to get into the mix and help the team. His attacking output was dimmed drastically. It probably is just that one off performance and Richy will bounce back next game.
Substitutes:
Fabian Delph – 5.5
Andre Gomes – 5
