Here is the Everton predicted lineup against Burnley.

Everton travel to Burnley on Saturday to face Sean Dyche’s side in a bid to get back to winning ways after a narrow 1-0 defeat to Leeds United. The absence of proper full backs did haunt the Toffees and it is expected that Everton will have a similar experience this weekend too with Seamus Coleman ruled out alongside Lucas Digne who remains a long term absentee.

Burnley sits in the relegation zone with just 5 points in 9 games only ahead of Sheffield United with 1 point. It is evident that Dyche’s side have struggled and what were their strong points have now become their vulnerabilities.

The Burnley boss is famous for his characteristic 4-4-2 formation with a defensive low block, restricting the opposition from scoring goals. His defensive approach has often worked out well for the Clarets but this season, 17 goals conceded suggest a different story. On the other hand, the Toffees too have struggled defensively, conceding the same number of goals as Burnley.

Carlo Ancelotti, in his press conference, hinted that the three man defence formation was an emergency solution and is likely to stick with the 3-4-3 against the 19th placed side. Niels Nkounkou is also expected to feature in the game, gaining some valuable Premier League experience. The predicted lineup:

Goalkeeper: Jordan Pickford

Pickford is on an impressive run of form and will likely start against Burnley. Everton have failed to keep a clean sheet in 11 games but Pickford can’t be pinned down with the blame. The Englishman has hit a purple patch of form after a long time and benching him now wouldn’t be a smart move.
