Here are the player ratings for Everton’s 1-1 draw with Burnley at Turf Moor.

Everton’s poor form continued with a draw to relegation-threatened Burnley due to a lack of aggression in attack. Ancelotti’s job is being made very difficult due to injuries, with the Toffees missing Lucas Digne, Seamus Coleman and possibly Jonjoe Kenny. Another full-back was added to that list as versatile Englishman Fabian Delph seemingly injured his hamstring while attempting to control the ball against the Clarets.

This means Everton only have Niels Nkounkou left who is a natural left-back and Ancelotti seems to be avoiding taking risks by playing the youth, but it seems like he may not have a choice because of Alex Iwobi’s poor performance on the left against Leeds.

Match Review. Everton disjointed in frustrating Clarets draw. light

Every Evertonian expected a tough game against Sean Dyche’s men, they’re a solid defensive unit who can counter-attack effectively through talented wingers Robbie Brady and especially Dwight McNeil, and with a very effective striker in Chris Wood up-front, the fans knew it would be a tough night in Lancashire.

Everton actually played a solid game of football, but down to some goalkeeping heroics from Nick Pope and a lack of aggression in the attack, the Toffees were only able to walk away with 1 point even though multiple moments in the game showed that Everton could’ve taken a well-deserved 3 points against a tough Burnley side.

Jordan Pickford – 7

Pickford finally seems to be gaining some confidence in an Everton shirt ever since the Virgil Van Dijk incident which seemed to impact the England number 1’s performances. He played quite well during the game, making 2 great saves which could’ve arguably ended in Burnley goals. He’s showing Everton fans that he really can cut down on the number of errors he commits which leads to Everton having a much more solid defensive unit.

The only problem for Pickford isn’t exactly something he can control, as shown in the Leeds game, Jordan seems to struggle with shots that are powered towards the bottom corners, with Brady scoring a similar goal that we saw Raphinha score for Leeds in Everton’s previous game. This is something Pickford can change with his positioning as it’s clear he’s improving and that the added pressure of Robin Olsen may have lit a fire in Jordan Pickford which could lead to him keeping his England starting spot in the Euros if he can continue to improve.
