Everton target Yunus Musah has signed a contract extension with Valencia.

Yunus Musah has burst onto the scene, putting together a string of eye-catching displays in the Valencia shirt. The 18 year old has seen his stock rise in no time and a host of clubs have kept an eye on the young USMNT gem. The likes of Everton, Arsenal, Leeds United and Wolves were tracking the progress of Musah, as per 90min.

The former Arsenal academy talent has enjoyed a meteoric rise since leaving London. Within one year, Musha has been promoted to the senior Los Che team and has become a regular part of the team. The right winger became Valencia’s youngest goalscorer in the history of the club, scoring against Getafe at 17 years 338 days.

His rise to prominence got parties in England interested. Everton getting linked to a right winger is sensible as the Toffees lack depth in that area. James Rodriguez is not a traditional right winger, leaving the Toffees without a typical right winger in the ranks.

Musah may have been a long shot but links to more right wingers may emerge as we get closer to the January transfer window. The 18 year old has shown tremendous potential and would have been one of the biggest starlets in the Premier League.

However, all the transfer talk have been brought to a full stop as Musah has signed a new deal with Los Che keeping the USMNT star at Mestalla until 2026, as per Daily Mail. The new deal has also seen his release clause skyrocket to £90 million to ward off any hijack attempts by payment of the release clause.

At this stage, it seems to be the right decision for the exuberant 18 year old. He’s started to make inroads in La Liga and needs to gather more experience under his belt before he can think of coming back to England. He’s well settled in Spain and must continue his development there until the time arrives where he can ponder over a transfer.

Valencia will also want to let Musah grow into a more mature footballer and sell him at the right price and right time. As of now, the suitors for Musah will have to return empty handed.
