Ahead of the Everton vs. Chelsea tie, we sat down with a Chelsea fan to know the mood in the Blues camp.

Everton take on Chelsea on Saturday at Goodison Park, coming back from a disappointing draw against Burnley at Turf Moor. In the recent seasons, the Toffees have had an upper hand over Chelsea at Goodison but given the barren run, Frank Lampard’s side will be the favourites before going into the tie.

The Londoners are in touching distance of the top spot of the league table and could temporarily go on top with Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool to play their games on Sunday. Ancelotti has far from his strongest available side with a number of key personnel sidelined due to injuries.

Chelsea will be confident of picking up 3 points especially after it was announced that Everton’s creative lynchpin, James Rodriguez has been ruled out of the tie. To know more about the thoughts on the Chelsea side, we had a friendly chat with Travis Tyler (@Travtical), the site expert at The Pride of London.

PRT: Everton’s form has spiralled down to a point where the early season highs look like an eternity ago, does the volatile form give Chelsea reassuring confidence of taking away 3 points?

"Travis: It should, but playing away to Everton has been a surprising bogeyman for Chelsea in recent seasons. The last time we got a point at Goodison was 2017. The last time we won there was also 2017. The biggest thing we have going for us is Frank Lampard really seems to have figured out his tactics and Carlo Ancelotti still seems to be playing with his to find the best fit at the moment. We’re not expecting a blowout like in March, but we’re feeling good about playing any team in the world at the moment."
