Juventus star talking to Ancelotti about Everton move
According to reports circulating in the German media Juventus midfielder Sami Khedira has been talking to Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti about a possible January move to Goodison Park.
Khedira has been mentioned regularly as a possible target for Everton boss Ancelotti and with the January transfer window only a few weeks away, these stories are only going to intensify.
This is a report we’ve picked up on before as the rumours about how unhappy he is in Turin continue to circulate.
Now it seems that the former German international has actually been in contact with the Toffees manager recently discussing his future. This marks a significant additional development in the story and so does this mean a move could be on the cards?
Frozen out at Juventus, the 33-year-old is desperate for a move away and playing in England, allegedly an ambition of his, while hooking up with one of his favorite coaches – Ancelotti – would seem ideal from his point of view.

But is signing Khedira also the right deal from Everton’s perspective?
The Blues have been linked with so many midfielders and Khedira is just one of about four or five different players in this position.
Others being linked with a move to Goodison Park include Tottenham’s Dele Alli, Real Madrid star Isco and Luis Alberto of Lazio.
Of these probably my first choice would be Isco given he too wants out of Madrid and has undoubted ability and top-level experience with Real and the Spanish national team.
However, Khedira would add plenty of extra experience and he’s a player with quality who would give another option to Ancelotti as he tries to find the right balance in the middle.
While Brazilian Allan and Frenchman Abdoulaye Doucoure, the two summer signings are pretty much guaranteed to start, the Blues manager has struggled to find a player to support them and make his preferred 4-3-3 formation work properly.
So far this season he’s tried Andre Gomes and Gylfi Sigurdsson most often as that third midfielder to support Allan and Doucoure.
Gomes began well enough in the first few matches, but then his form declined and and although Sigurdsson had an excellent game against Chelsea, he has been very unreliable and I wouldn’t be confident he can consistently reproduce that performance.
Perhaps therefore Ancelotti will feel a player of Khedira’s nous and ability might just provide the kind of stability in midfield he needs. Getting him on a free transfer too might make sense and would still allow other signings to be made.
