Ben Godfrey is Everton’s Mr. Versatile.
Defence:
Left back: Ben Godfrey
Ben Godfrey has taken many by surprise by playing in almost all positions across the defence and rightfully earning the title of Mr. versatile. Against Chelsea, the 22 year old did a fantastic job of restricting Kai Havertz. Godfrey may not offer the attacking qualities of a full back but being defensively sound, relieves a lot of pressure from the defence.
Centre back: Michael Keane
He’s earned the title of Mr. Reliable, thanks to his resilient, consistent performances in the heart of the defence. There were one or two off games but his impact has largely been on the positive side. Keane did a fantastic job in keeping Olivier Giroud in check and will have a similar responsibility against Jamie Vardy, however, Vardy’s pace is a factor that Keane may not have an answer to.
Centre back: Yerry Mina
Ancelotti feels that Yerry Mina has improved from his early season showings which prove that the manager is confident on the Colombian. The centre back duo of Keane and Mina did well against the Londoners and are expected to retain their spots against the Foxes.
Right back: Mason Holgate
The 24 year old played as a right back early in his career before transforming into a centre back. However, Holgate has been brilliant whenever played in the right back role. Ancelotti didn’t want to risk Seamus Coleman for their trip to Leicester and Jonjoe Kenny doesn’t seem to be a preferred choice, leaving Holgate as the only selectable option.
