Everton will have to battle PSG and AS Monaco to secure Dele Alli on loan from Tottenham Hotspur.
Dele Alli is not enjoying the current season at Tottenham Hotspur. The Englishman does not extensively feature in Jose Mourinho’s plans with Alli making just nine appearances so far. Alli was one a key cog under Mourinho last season but things haven’t been the same this term. His exile seems at Spurs can come to an end with clubs lining up a loan move in the January transfer window.
Everton have a significant interest in the 24 year old as the Toffees continue to strengthen their side and fill the gaps in the squad. An attacking midfielder of Alli’s caliber can instantly improve the team’s playmaking quality and help orchestrate the attack alongside James Rodriguez.
French giants PSG are one of the biggest admirers of the Englishman’s talent with their interest going back to the summer transfer window. Back then, Spurs were in no mood to listen to any sort of offers for Alli. Things have changed in less than six months with the North London side open to a loan move. Certain reports state that an 18 month loan deal is very much possible with Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano stating that an 18 month loan deal with an option to buy will be considered by Tottenham.
Romano also stated that Everton are very much in the race to sign Alli. However, the competition is getting intense day by day. According to Le10 Sport, AS Monaco are also interested in Alli and have entered the chase as surprise entrants. A complete French showdown between PSG and Les Monegasques is not ruled out.
A number of teams are lurking around Alli. Monaco may not be the most desirable destination but it is an indication that more and more suitors may join the party to acquire the services of the 24 year old.
