West Ham United have joined Everton and Arsenal in chase of Bolaye Dia of Stade Reims.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin is currently the best striker in England by a country mile. It’s not just his goalscoring but his play off the ball, his hard work in front of the ball is what is garnering praises. The Englishman was signed for £1.5 million and has come closest to reaching the goalscoring form of Romelu Lukaku a few years ago. Since Lukaku, the Toffees lacked a ruthless goalscoring poacher but DCL has finally solved the ever lingering question.

However, the Toffees have struggled to have an adequate backup for the 23 year old. Cenk Tosun is the current option but has not been convincing for large parts of his Everton career. Moise Kean, currently on loan at PSG, may choose to move away permanently with Juventus and PSG ready to pounce on him next year.

The search for a striker continues who can act as a backup to DCL and even give Ancelotti the flexibility of playing a two striker formation when needed. A few days ago, a report emerged that Everton are eyeing Ligue 1 ace Boulaye Dia who is tearing the French League with 9 goals in 14 games. The French-Senegalese is competing with PSG forward Kylian Mbappe for the golden boot in the league.

His team, Stade Reims, sit lowly in the 16th position lingering around the relegation zone. Arsenal, Lyon and Olympique Marseille are also in the hunt. Now, according to Le10 Sport, West Ham United are also monitoring Dia as they scrutinize the role of Sebastien Haller.

Dia has come from the lower leagues of France and has taken the Ligue 1 by storm. His progress in last one year has been exceptional and clearly deserves to play for a more potent team. His time at Stade Reims may soon be coming to an end as bigger clubs sharks around him.

It is true that Dia is not proven in a league like the Premier League but is making a strong case for himself. Everton need a strong backup to DCL and Dia could definitely do the job but Toffees need to move fast if they are actually interested as other clubs circle.
