Tom Davies will come in for Andre Gomes.
Midfield:
Central midfielder: Abdoulaye Docuoure
The captain of the Engine room in Allan’s absence, Doucoure, has been everything that Everton needed. Energy, power and die hard determination to make that extra tackle, that late run in the box and those running of extra few yards.
The Frenchman played with more freedom against Arsenal as Tom Davies played in a more withdrawn role or more of an Allan role. Doucoure will have similar role this weekend too as Davies starts alongside him unlike midweek where Andre Gomes was deployed with Doucoure.
Central midfield: Tom Davies
Tom Davies has really picked up his act from compared to last season. The Englishman is taking baby steps and showing signs of improvement. He was on duty against Arsenal and did not disappoint with a decent display.
He’s building on the confidence and support shown by Ancelotti and evolving with each passing game. Davies needs to make the most of Allan’s absence or else he may soon be forgotten especially as Jean Philippe-Gbamin inches closer to return.
Attacking midfield: Gylfi Sigurdsson
With James Rodriguez ruled out, Sigurdsson will again play in the No.10 role, the position he’s most comfortable in. Sigurdsson has been brilliant in last few games, putting up an acceptable performance against Manchester United where the whole team looked jaded.
Sigurdsson’s deliveries in the box have been a treat to watch especially his corners. The Iceman was under pressure for a long time but a return to the No.10 role has seen him enjoy and get back to the level we expect from the record signing.
