Everton host Manchester City at Goodison on a late Monday night fixture.

Turn back the pages of the history books and you one wouldn’t be able to find a better start to the Premier League season for Everton. Sitting second in the table on boxing day wouldn’t have been a possibility even in the wildest of dreams but Carlo Ancelotti and his squad have made it possible.

Taking on arguably the best side in the country, the Toffees have a challenging task ahead of them. Even though Manchester City are not in the best of their form and shape, they are always a formidable side due to their manager, their squad depth and quality in the ranks. The Royal Blues will be without James Rodriguez, Allan and Lucas Digne whereas Richarlison is expected to return to the lineup.

Here is the Everton predicted lineup:

Goalkeeper: Jordan Pickford

The Englishman kept a clean sheet against Sheffield United and remains untested for most parts of the game. The Englishman is in good spirits and is has produced some really solid performances lately, boosting his confidence which has reflected in his game. The fierce attacking lineup of Manchester City can cause a lot of trouble meaning Pickford may have a very busy time between the sticks.
