Juventus midfielder and Everton target flew to England to discuss his future.
We are inching closer to the January transfer window and unsettled, undesirable players are making an attempt to secure a move away from their clubs. Dele Alli of Tottenham Hotspur finds himself in a position where his future remains uncertain, Isco too can echo with Alli.
Sami Khedira too finds himself in a similar predicament. The German is undesirable at Juventus and the Serie A giants want to get rid of Khedira at the earliest. Khedira was never a part of Andrea Pirlo’s plans and has been deserted figure at the club since the late part of last season.
A number of clubs have been associated with a move for Khedira. The 33 year old has publicly stated that he dreams to play in the Premier League and would be open to a move to England. A reunion with Carlo Ancelotti is a realistic possibility as Everton search for more experience and depth in the market.
The manager and player were together at Real Madrid where Khedira was an indispensable part of the team. Another option in the form of Stuttgart also remains open where the German came through the ranks before eventually moving to Real Madrid in 2010. Khedira’s future is likely to be sorted before the end of the winter transfer window.
According to Calciomercato, Khedira has asked his club Juventus to allow him to fly to England to discuss about possible future options. His desire to take a trip to England is a clear indication that the German prefers a move to the English Top Flight over any other team, making Everton a strong possibility.
Tottenham Hotspur also remain loosely linked to the 2014 World Cup winner but Everton can be considered as frontrunners. Juventus want to sell Khedira as soon as possible in order to save money in the wage budget and free up space in the squad. It remains to be seen whether Everton make an attempt to sign Khedira.
