James Rodriguez’s scrumptious goal against West Brom was proof that the Colombian has finally arrived in the Premier League.

2. James Rodriguez vs. West Bromich Albion

Everton had made a number of moves in the transfer window, however, the acquisition of James Rodriguez sparked the most discussion.

The shine on the Colombian international midfielder had tarnished somewhat, but he was still an impressive signing for the Toffees and supporters and pundits waited to see what Rodriguez could produce in the Royal Blue jersey.

It didn’t take long after showing some of his magic against Spurs. He really cast spells against West Bromich Albion in the home opener on 19 September.

It looked like the two teams were going to end the first half at 1-1. With about a minute left, Rodriguez demonstrated what all the fuss was about. The move started with Jordan Pickford, who stroked the ball to Michael Keane. Keane followed by sliding another forward pass to Brazilian midfielder Allan.

Allan,  another one of Everton’s new signings, played the ball forward to Richarlison and the Brazilain talisman drove at the Baggies back four.

Richarlison slid the ball across the pitch to Rodriguez.  The 29-year-old, took a touch to make a  little space to shoot.

And boy did he shoot!

He couldn’t have placed it better, if he had carried the ball and walked it in.

West Brom ‘keeper Sam Johnstone dove but he couldn’t get to the ball even at his full extension.

It was the epitome of a team goal and of building from the back. Four forward passes took the ball the length of the pitch and showed the growing international make-up of Everton’s line-up as internationals from England and Brazil set up the opportunity and a Colombian international scored.

Rodriguez had arrived and Everton had another hero.
