Here are the Everton player ratings.

Everton blew the chance to go second in the league table and kick start the New Year with a win as Carlo Ancelotti’s men succumbed to a 1-0 defeat to West Ham United. It was a soulless, dreadful performance by the Toffees that lacked ambition and intent. Fans were hopeful that the extra rest that the players got due to the Manchester City game postponement would work in favour of Everton but the team looked jaded and exhausted.

The entire game was uneventful and more of a snoozefest until Tomas Soucek found the back of the net late in the second half. Everton were too predictable with their passingand the usual go-to players for producing a spark of inspiration failed to produce something decisive.

Everton need to forget such a mundane display and move on. Here are the Everton player ratings:

Jordan Pickford – 6

Couldn’t have done much to stop Tomas Soucek’s effort. Pickford did produce some routine saves which were the least expected from him. Much like the entire game, his time between the posts was uneventful as he was hardly tested and involved.
