Everton striker Cenk Tosun, wanted by Crystal Palace and West Bromwich Albion, admits that his future remains unclear.

The future of Cenk Tosun at Everton remains uncertain. The 29 year old is not the first choice, playing second fiddle to high flying Dominic Calvert-Lewin. He is not in a position to leapfrog DCL and fix his spot in the team, the Englishman is miles ahead of him in terms of impact on the team and goalscoring.

With the Euros scheduled in summer, the Turkey international wants to play more regularly in the buildup to the international tournament. He is a central figure in Senol Gunes’ team, spearheading the attack. However, back at Everton, he’s at best a rotational option.

The Turk has endured a miserable time in England failing to catch a break. Tosun arrived from Besiktas as a dangerous striker with an amazing goal record but he has never been able to reach the level that was expected from him. In 57 games for Everton, the Turk has managed just 10 goals, which is not a glowing endorsement for a traditional No.9 said to be in his prime.

In the summer, Tosun was still recovering from a cruciate ligament surgery that put a summer move off the table. Everton’s other striker, Moise Kean, left Goodison on loan leaving Tosun as the only backup to Calvert-Lewin. However, the lack of chances since then may force Tosun to consider his future and make a move if required in the ongoing January transfer window.

More from Prince Rupert's Tower

The striker is said to be attracting interest from the Premier League, Germany and Turkey. In the Top Flight, West Bromwich Albion and Crystal Palace have been named as possible suitors. Baggies boss Sam Allardyce was the one who brought Tosun to England when he was the manager at Everton. Allardyce admires Tosun and can push for a deal as the English boss aims to engineer West Brom to safety.

In Germany, Hertha Berlin and Schalke are rumored to have contacted Everton to know the striker’s availability. His former employers Besiktas are ready to re-welcome their hero back to Turkey. Now, Tosun has given some clarity over his future while speaking to Tivibu TV.

"I will make a decision in a period of two to three weeks. Will I stay here and fight to get my form back? Or will I be signed by another club, score my goals again and go to Euro 2020? It will be clear in a few weeks. (via The Focus)"

The Toffees are not in the mood to sell him now as Carlo Ancelotti still counts on him. The Turk is going to be handed a rare start against Rotherham in the FA Cup. The next few weeks will be crucial for Tosun before he makes the final call on his future.
