Bayern Munich striker Joshua Zirkzee has emerged as a potential transfer target for Everton.

According to talkSPORT, Bayern Munich striker Joshua Zirkzee is close to a loan to Everton .  These reports looked a product of the rumour mill because of Marcel Brands’ statements recently where he claimed that the Toffees won’t go shopping in January. However, since then, even Fabrizio Romano has reported that Everton are in talks to sign Zirkzee on a loan with Serie A outfit Parma also keen on the talented teenager.

Zirkzee is not a name that many fans would resonate with. He’s relatively young and unknown to fans in England. Here are some things that we must know about the latest Everton target.

Joshua Zirkzee’s background

Zirkzee was scouted by ADO Den Haag, joining their youth academy in 2013. At the age of 15, Feyenoord came swooping in but his stay at De Kuip only lasted a year as he was snapped up by Bayern Munich. The Dutchman worked his way up the Bayern ranks and was eventually training with Die Roten icons like Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery.

The youngster has been Robert Lewandowski’s deputy at Allianz Arena, marking the start to a promising career by scoring the winner on his senior debut against Freiburg in 2019. The 2019-20 season saw him net 4 Bundesliga goals in 9 games (293 minutes), averaging a goal every 74 minutes. The 19 year old has had a steady start to this season too as he continues to learn from arguably the best striker in the world right now.
