The footballing world saw the breakout of two most promising Norwegian youngsters in recent times. Erling Braut Haaland breakout in Europe and Martin Odegaard’s springboard to recognition has brought Norwegian football to the limelight. Europe’s elite and the “big” clubs have rigorously started looking for such talents.

According to Calciomercato.it, the name of Sivert Mannsverk is gaining a lot of attention in England, Italy and Netherlands as clubs such as Everton, Inter Milan, Aston Villa, Ajax and other teams have watched the 18 year old. The Norwegian plays in the country’s second division for Sogndal IL. Traditionally, a central midfielder, Mannsverk is capable of even fulfilling the role of a defensive midfielder and also supplementing the attack as an attacking midfielder.

The kid has shown a lot of promise and already leads the team, turning the eyes of many clubs across Europe. The report mentions that Ajax and FC Groningen are ahead of everyone in the race to sign the starlet as they have tabled significant official offers.

Inter Milan and Lazio hold considerable interest as Antonio Conte’s side aims to inject freshness and young blood in the midfield. Meanwhile, Premier League teams Everton and Aston Villa have started to press.

What can Sivert Mannsverk offer to Everton?

The Toffees have scouted Mannsverk and are possibly eyeing him for the longer term. If the Merseysiders are able to beat the competition and sign him now or in the summer, the 18 year old is not going to get a shot directly in the first team. Following the Anthony Gordon style model, the player is likely to stay with the U-23’s. Mannsverk is on a learning trajectory, throwing him into the Premier League circus directly would be a suicide mission.

He surely has the talent and skill but there’s a path to reach the top tier of football. Ajax and Groningen surely lead the race to sign the exuberant teenager but it will be a race against time for any team to get the deal done before the end of the transfer window.
