Thierry Small became the youngest player to play for Everton.

Everton’s future looks bright

Everton now have a new youngest ever debutant, with 16-year old Thierry Small being given the last 10 minutes of the game, along with Tyler Onyango, who’s also only 17-years old. These two have been shining for the Everton youth teams, and along with the other promising prospects coming through the Everton academy, it’s clear that Everton have a very talented group of players coming through at the perfect time.

Small put in quite an impressive performance in only 10 minutes, winning two tackles and completing two out of his three passes, which don’t get me wrong isn’t the most impressive set of statistics, but the most important thing is that he will continue to improve and boost his stats when he gets his next outing with the first team.

I didn’t notice much from Onyango, but he’s impressed heavily for Everton in the Premier League 2, grabbing two goals and an assist in his 11 appearances for David Unsworth’s side. Along with players like Anthony Gordon, Jarrad Branthwaite and Ellis Simms, it’s clear that Everton have a very bright future which could work perfectly as depth options for Ancelotti and eventually starters in an Everton team that could be consistent competitors for Europe.
