3 things learned from Everton vs Sheffield Wednesday: James Rodriguez makes it look easy!
Dominic Calvert-Lewin broke his scoring duck, scoring after 7 games.
Is Dominic Calvert-Lewin back?
Before this game, Calvert-Lewin hadn’t scored for Everton since the start of December against Burnley, but he had a fantastic game against the Owls, which only makes sense considering Calvert-Lewin’s history as a Sheffield United academy graduate.
The Englishman had a rough December, but this could be exactly what he needs to get back into goalscoring form. Calvert-Lewin had a few goal opportunities, forcing a good near-post save from Joe Wildsmith which could’ve ended up being one of the goals of the season.
DCL also had four shots on target which proved he could be back to his goal poaching best that we saw at the start of the season, and with a tough run of games coming up very soon this goal could be vital for the number nine’s confidence, and a confident Calvert-Lewin is one of the most dangerous strikers in the Premier League.
