Everton host Newcastle United on Saturday at Goodison Park.

After being held to a 1-1 draw in midweek against Leicester City, Everton lock horns against a struggling Newcastle United side on Saturday. The Toffees will be hoping to return to winning ways in order to maintain their pursuit of top four, which now is a real possibility.

Carlo Ancelotti has stated that playing in the Champions League remains a motivation for all at the club and the team is going to push in order to achieve that. The Italian revealed that Allan, Jean Philippe-Gbamin and Fabian Delph remain out but Gbamin can start training with the team next week. Abdoulaye Doucoure will return to the team after serving his one match suspension due to accumulation of yellow cards.

Match Preview. Must win match as Everton host Magpies. light

Here is the Everton predicted lineup against Newcastle United:

Goalkeeper: Jordan Pickford

He was the centre of criticism after making an error against Leicester City that potentially cost three points but benching him against Newcastle will be a big blow to his confidence. The Englishman has been able to pick himself from the low points of the season and put up decent performances.

Pickford has always been prone to making such gaffes from time to time but should he be benched, his confidence will take a deep hit making him more error prone. Ancelotti did the perfect job of backing the 26 year old in front of the media.
