Attack:

Alex Iwobi – 6

Alex Iwobi had his moments in the first half, but it was a frustrating performance from the former Arsenal man overall.

With James Rodriguez on the bench, Iwobi started on the right wing and was expected to get down the line and put in dangerous balls to Calvert-Lewin in the middle of the pitch and he simply did not do that enough.

Iwobi didn’t offer much of anything in the second half and was particularly infuriating when he failed to hold onto the ball and carry the team up the pitch during a spell of heavy Leeds pressure during the opening moments of the second half.

Richarlison – 6

It was another disappointing display from Richarlison as he continues to struggle to get his season going.

Nobody can question his work rate and he showed that again last night as he got up and down the pitch and tracked back when needed. But as an attacking threat, nothing seems to be coming off for the Brazilian and he looks bereft of confidence.

With the recent arrival of Joshua King, it may be beneficial to give Richarlison a rest and perhaps see of he can produce something when coming off the bench.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin – 7

Despite his lack of goals in recent months, Calvert-Lewin’s performance have remained fairly consistent as he has continued to show what he brings to the team as a complete centre forward.

However, by his own high standards this season, his first half display was quite poor. He had a tame effort on his left foot from the edge of the box and his general play was erratic, making poor decisions and overthinking situations, possibly a sign of a lack of confidence.

But he will have been relieved to end his premier league goal drought with a poacher’s finish at the back post, heading home from a corner at the end of the first half. His second half display was better but he should have done a lot better with a golden chance late on which would have put the game to bed.

Substitutes:

Michael Keane, Joshua King, Tom Davies – 6

Michael Keane came on for the last ten minutes and slotted seamlessly into the centre of the Blues’ defence. Tom Davies and Joshua King also came on late on to help run down the clock, with neither of them having enough time to have any real affect on the game, although it was good to see King make his debut for the club after his recent arrival from Bournemouth.
