Stories in the press today are claiming Everton will ask for an eye-watering £70 million for want-away striker Moise Kean.

The saga surrounding Kean has been running almost ever since he signed for Everton last summer. The young Italian forward seemed to find it difficult to settle and was struggling with disciplinary issues and to make an impression on then manager Marco Silva.

When Carlo Ancelotti took over he might have hoped for more chance at Goodison Park. However, Ancelotti stuck with Duncan Ferguson’s team in which Richarlison partnered Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

So in January last year reports surfaced that Kean wanted to return to Italy and Juventus. Nothing happened then and he stayed but it seemed pretty clear that things were not going well with the teenage striker.

Fast forward to last summer and rumours resurfaced he  might leave and eventually he did going on loan to PSG for the season.

He’s had a good season so far in Ligue 1 and he appears to be very comfortable there and is enjoying his time in the French capital.

Now the Daily Mail are claiming that the Toffees will want a massive amount for Kean from whoever wants him this coming summer, whether that’s PSG or Jyventus or anyone else.

This sort of fee seems extremely excessive and I’m doubtful that the Blues are really going to demand that sort of money from any suitors.

I would think Everton will want to ship Kean out quickly if he is determined to leave, which seems very likely. I reckon the club should look basically to re-coup the £30 million odd fee paid for him.

Another related story is about another Toffees striker currently on loan; Cenk Tosun. The Turkish forward has returned to the club Everton signed him from for the rest of the season.

More from Prince Rupert's Tower

The Liverpool Echo are relating a rumour from fanatik.com saying that the Blues are considering a swap deal with Tosun’s club Besiktas turning his loan into a permanent deal in return for their Canadian striker Cyle Larin.

I’m not sure signing another Besiktas striker is a good idea! However, Larin looks in terms of numbers, a decent player, he’s young at 25 and has the sort of abilities the Toffees need.

The Canadian is strong in the air and is a versatile forward who can play up front or on the left or right wing as well.

His best position seems to be on the right where the Blues need more options and pace. He’s also scored 12 goals this season, although that obviously has the caveat that he is scoring those goals in the Turkish league.

Anyway, if Kean is to go then I hope Everton get the maximum amount for him although I doubt it will be the sort of money being quoted above.

At any rate, even if Josh King is a success, I think the Toffees will need to go into the market in the summer for another forward to provide more pace and attacking variety.
