Everton face a stern away test at Liverpool on Saturday.
The Toffees have been waiting for an eternity to register a win at Anfield. The recent shaky form of the cross city rivals gives hope to Evertonians that they can walk away with three points and get the the bragging rights.
The current Everton team is well equipped and possibly is the best bet to break the Anfield hoodoo. Ahead of the Merseyside derby, there is some good news for the supporters of the blue half of Merseyside as Allan and Dominic Calvert-Lewin have returned and are ready. However, towering defender Yerry Mina is ruled out for three to four weeks with a calf problem after picking an injury in the last game against Manchester City.
The last time Everton won at Anfield was 22 years ago, when most of the first team players were in their cribs or toddlers learning to speak. Almost an entire generation has gone without seeing Everton win at Anfield and tomorrow Carlo Ancelotti’s men are going to try their level best to deliver three points.
Here is the Everton predicted lineup:
Goalkeeper: Jordan Pickford
Jordan Pickford returned to goal last game against Manchester City after missing four games due to side injury. Despite conceded three goals, the Englishman was firm and produced some spectacular saves. He’ll have to be on the same level or even better to stop the likes of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane from scoring.
