Carlo Ancelotti produced a tactical masterclass against the Reds.

This could be the Turning Point

I mentioned this after the City game, that if Everton beat Liverpool it could be the catalyst to push Everton towards European football for the first time since 2017, and possibly their first Champions League finish since 2005. This would be a huge accomplishment for Carlo Ancelotti’s side, especially considering that this season was seen as a transitional season by some fans and probably even some people in the club.

Ancelotti has been able to get the most out of the team that has talent, but arguably not enough depth to be contending for top six, which is exactly what the Toffees have been doing for a majority of the season. The Italian still has a lot of deadwood in the squad and hasn’t been able to fully build his own squad, even though he’s been able to bring in some important pieces.

This is a very positive sign for Everton fans, it’s proof that Everton can contend towards the top of the Premier League, and it’s very possible that when Everton have the ideal squad for Ancelotti that they could be possible title contenders if they continue to overperform with the squad they have.

Let’s just say, it’s a very positive sign for the Toffees, and that trophies could be coming to Goodison Park, or Bramley Moor Dock. It’s a very exciting time to be an Everton fan.
