Everton get Bramley-Moore Dock Stadium approval
As long as we are discussing the importance of home fans and stadiums, the club got its approval for the Bramley-Moore Dock stadium from the Liverpool City council. The club acquired a 200 year lease for the proposed site back in 2017 and convened the process of finalizing the looks and structure of the 52,000 capacity stadium.
Appropriate personnel were appointed with Dan Meis appointed as the chief architect, however, later in June 2020, he stepped down from the project. In July 2019, the stadium’s first design was revealed which instantly won fan support through its uniqueness and beauty. Later that year, Everton submitted the initial proposal to the city council for the state of the art Bramley-Moore Dock stadium.
After making the proposed changes by the authorities, the updated design was made public and an updated proposal was submitted. Liverpool City council has now granted Everton permission.
The proposal will now be forwarded to Robert Jenrick, Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government for consideration and approval. The approval of the Secretary of State would enable the club to begin the construction process with the scheduled completion before the start of 2024-25 season.
Despite all the hurdles, the Bramley-Moore Dock stadium is now one step closer to becoming a reality. Coming back to Goodison Park, the fans will have to wait until next season to witness the heritage of the club and magic that is being sprinkled by James Rodriguez and the team.
