Jonjoe Kenny has had a positive start at Celtic.

Jonjoe Kenny:

Club: Celtic

Appearances – 6

Starts – 6

Minutes Played – 540

Clean Sheets – 3

Goals/Assists – 0/1

Rating – 7

Having struggled for game time at Everton, Kenny joined Celtic on loan on the 1st of February until the end of the season. He was also a target for Burnley but the asking price was too high and the Clarets weren’t ready to pay it.

Despite being 18 points behind league leaders Rangers, this month was a relatively better one for Celtic who managed to win 5 out the 6 games played in the Premiership with Kenny helping The Hoops keep 3 clean sheets and conceding just 3 goals during the 6 games that were played this month, while also providing an assist going forward. The Toffees are looking for a right back in the summer which means that Kenny may be shown the exit door so this loan spell becomes an audition for him.

Cenk Tosun:

Appearances – 2

Starts – 1

Minutes Played – 94

Goals/Assists – 2/0

Rating – 6

Now we know that he may not have played much for us to judge his performance accurately but don’t forget that this man suffered an ACL injury in the March of 2020. Not just that, before leaving for Besiktas on loan he scored the opening goal for Everton in their 2-1 win against Rotherham United in the FA Cup 3rd round and played the entire match. In the 29 minutes he played against Genclerbirligi SK, he managed to take 3 shots and all 3 on target and scored a brace.

In the one game that he started Konyaspor in the Turkish Cup quarter final, Tosun was not able to cause a positive impact before being taken off. The player is happy in Turkey and can expect more minutes as we enter March. If the next few months pan out well for Tosun and Besiktas, could there be a possibility of a permanent move?
