Everton: PSG may have a new plan to redeem Moise Kean
We have seen two polar opposite Moise Kean’s in the last 12 months. Last season, Kean’s first at Everton, the player had a turbulent start and was never able to build a strong foundation. One underwhelming season later, Kean was loaned to PSG as he was keen to play and not play the waiting game.
One can argue that he was deprived of adequate match time but he was supposed to be an understudy and adapt to the English game. Everton didn’t sign him to instantly draft him into the starting lineup. Adapting to the Premier League is no easy task. Timo Werner at Chelsea is having a fair share of difficulties but is slowly acclimatizing. Kean was no exception.
The 20 year old unhappy with his game time and troubles settling in, went to PSG where he became an instant phenomenon. An anomaly that transcended from the depths of desolation at Everton to the highs of heroism at PSG. Kean was tearing the Ligue 1 apart with his tremendous displays. 14 goals in 26 games at PSG is a testament.
Les Parisiens now desire to keep him permanently but with no purchase option in the current deal, the ball is in Everton’s court. Fabrizio Romano has stated previously that Everton will demand €70 million for Kean’s services but later that sum was readjusted to €45-€50 million. Kean seems to be happy in Paris and is enjoying life under Mauricio Pochettino.
PSG Sporting Director Leonardo recently addressed the situation saying that they’ll see what happens in the summer. Kean is not the only player they are trying to sign. Rumours of Lionel Messi continue to do rounds whereas the interest in Hector Bellerin has also been rekindled. Keeping in mind the renewals of Kylian Mbappe and Neymar along with transfer activity in the summer, PSG’s finances may stretch as every club deals with the after effects of the pandemic.
PSG have another plan to redeem Moise Kean
The French giants want to keep Kean beyond this season and PSG may have another plan to redeem the Italian. According to Le10 Sport, PSG could seek another loan for Kean but this time inserting a purchase option. It remains to be seen whether Everton agree to such a deal because Carlo Ancelotti admires the 20 year old and wants to have him at Goodison Park next season.
If the striker makes a decision to leave Everton, the club would possibly look to sell him rather than loan him for another season. The funds generated by his sale can be utilized to bring upgrades in the summer.
Should Everton sell Moise Kean and make a huge profit or give him another shot at succeeding at Goodison?
