Moise Kean was signed by Everton for £27.5 million from Juventus
Moise Kean is a controversial player for Everton fans; when the Italian joined the Toffees in August 2019, he had fans shocked, the 20-year old had scored six goals in only 13 Serie A appearances and had fans excited for his future. Due to an unfortunate situation, Kean wanted to leave Turin and arrived in Merseyside’s blue half.
Kean flattered to deceive for Everton, grabbing an assist against Wolves in match week four of the 19/20 season. It wasn’t too long until the problems started. Kean was benched for three games and wasn’t included in the squad when Everton took on Southampton.
The Italian was then given a chance against Leicester and in the Merseyside Derby, where fans noticed the early signs that Kean didn’t seem motivated. He would then be punished for it when Marco Silva was sacked and replaced by Everton fan-favourite Duncan Ferguson.
He was on the bench for Ferguson’s infamous win against Chelsea, where Everton fans saw a sneak peek of what Dominic Calvert-Lewin would soon become, but it was the Manchester United game that started the controversy. Kean was subbed on, and after showing no fight or passion, was substituted only 18 minutes later for Oumar Niasse. The substitution was questionable, with Duncan Ferguson himself saying:
"It wasn’t because of his performance, I just wanted to kill a bit of time. I’ve been there as a player myself, I’ve been subbed [on] and subbed off myself. He’ll be fine. He’ll come again, he’s only 19. (via Independent)"
With the arrival of Carlo Ancelotti, fans hoped that playing under the Italian legend might motivate the young forward to play at his best, but Ancelotti preferred a frontline of Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison which limited Kean mainly to substitute appearances.

Everton sent Kean to PSG on loan without a buy option
He had his moments, scoring against Newcastle, assisting against Watford and a fantastic performance against Bournemouth in the final game of the season, even though the Toffees lost. Looking back with hindsight makes me think that Kean only put 100% effort in to put himself in the shop window. Kean was limited to one minute and 12 minutes in the first two games of this season and eventually was loaned to PSG.
Some fans were left with pie on their face after expecting Kean to fail out in Paris. In only his second game, the Italian bagged two goals against Dijon in a 4-0 win for the Parisians. Kean has continued to perform and leaves us in this current situation.
After it was confirmed that Kean’s £18mil option to buy was just a rumour, Everton fans realised they may be able to get good money for Kean; this had Everton fans excited, especially after Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Everton had placed a €70mil price tag on Kean.
"Everton will fight for Kean, or receive €60m[£52.1m] or €70m[£60.8m] or keep the player. Ancelotti is a big fan of Moise Kean. In my opinion, they are planning for him as the star for next season. (Fabrizio Romano on his Here We Go Podcast)"

PSG are looking to sign Moise Kean permanently from Everton
One thing Everton need is a right-winger; James Rodriguez has mainly played that role, but bringing in somebody who can play as a wide forward would allow Rodriguez to move into his natural position of attacking midfield.
Kean would fit this role perfectly, if Ancelotti manages to convince his Italian compatriot to stay at Goodison Park, it would save the Toffees a lot of money, which would allow them to improve more positions, like right-back and forward depth.
Fans are open to a return to Goodison Park for Kean, with many of them seeing Kean in a more positive light after scoring against former Everton manager Ronald Koeman’s Barcelona side, playing an important role in PSG’s 4-1 victory against Barca at the Nou Camp.
Kean has shown he can perform on the right side, with him grabbing his goal against Barcelona coming from the right, so he can more than likely play that role for the Toffees.
He has scored 14 goals in 26 appearances for PSG and for a player who’s arguably the fourth option upfront, behind Kylian Mbappe, Neymar and Mauro Icardi. The possibility of him returning to Goodison could also depend on Lionel Messi’s future.
The rumours have stated that PSG want Messi and may be able to afford it. If this happens, it could see Moise Kean sent back to Everton unless Mauricio Pochettino wants to get rid of either Icardi or Angel Di Maria. Still, the problem is that Messi may want to play with some of his Argentinian teammates.
If Kean returns to Everton, Ancelotti has said he’ll give Kean a starring role. With the possibility of Champions League looming over Goodison Park, it could see Kean return to form a deadly front three with Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison. It’s a win-win for the Toffees; they’ll either receive a huge sum for Kean or have a future star in their hands to form a dangerous front three with an average age of 22.
