Everton welcome Southampton at Goodison Park on Monday night as the Toffees search for their first home win since December in the Premier League. Southampton are struggling and have one of the worst away form, winning just 3 games on the road. Ahead of the tie, we sat down for a chat with Ryan Borowski (@TheBig_Borowski), the site expert at Saints Marching, to know the mood of the Southampton fan camp.

PRT: Everton do not boast a very impressive home record, taking just 14 points of 36, does that give Southampton some psychological boost of pulling off a win?

"Ryan: Yes I believe so. Southampton have been a solid team on the road and knowing Everton may not be as strong at home could give the team a boost to go out there and not necessarily play like they are the away side."

PRT: The last time these two sides met, Saints were sitting comfortably in 7th position and even went into top four. What has changed at Southampton that has caused a sudden fall?

"Ryan: A number of things but i believe injuries have been the biggest catalyst for the sudden fall. The squad lacks depth and just a few injuries to key players leaves Ralph scrambling for solution. There are times the teams looks physically and mentally fatigued and it has caused for some frustrating matches"

Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Allan and James Rodriguez can scare Southampton

PRT: Carlo Ancelotti insisted that Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Allan are fit to start, presuming that the duo starts, how will it affect Southampton and their gameplan?

"Ryan: I think it may cause Southampton to coke out a little more conservative then they may like. Ralph Hasenhuttl loves to press but those two players could impact the Saints ability to press effectively"

PRT: Does the Saints defence have enough steel in them to stop the likes of Richarlison, DCL and James Rodriguez?

"Ryan: I believe the right side of the defence may be a point of emphasis for Everton to attack. That is probably where the Saints defence is at its weakest without Kyle Walker-Peters. If Everton are able to exploit that side I think we may see the Saints defence have issues stopping the attack."

PRT: Which Southampton player can cause damage to Everton?

"Ryan: It will be interesting to see if Nathan Redmond starts up top again alongside Danny Ings. Redmond seems to be growing into the striker role he just needs to start finishing his chances and if he does that he can cause some damage."

PRT: According to you, which is the most exciting player battle?

"Ryan: Lucas Digne vs Jan Bednarek down the right will interesting. As I mentioned earlier I think that side of the Saints defence may be a point of emphasis for Everton to attack and Digne could have himself a field day"

PRT: What are your score predictions?

"Ryan: Everton 2 – 1 Saints. Low on confidence Saints will put up a fight but I do not think they will have enough to get a result."
