The Moise Kean transfer saga is throwing turns and twists one after the other. What began as a simple loan for PSG who were looking for cover in the striker’s position, has now become a subject of intense discussion in the PSG offices. Approximately, six months ago no one would have predicted the meteoric rise of Kean after moving to Paris.

The Italian stunned the Ligue 1 with his blistering performances, posting a commendable record in front of the goal. He may not be the most technically sought after striker but does the primary job of scoring goals (at least at PSG). Satisfied with Kean’s exploits, PSG do dream of signing the 21 year old permanently.

Earlier, Everton were reluctant to sell their €27.5 million signing as he was part of a long term project at Goodison Park but acknowledging Kean’s happiness in the French capital, the Toffees may give a green light to his sale for the right price. Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano stated that Everton will slap a price tag of around €45-€50 million on Kean.

Leonardo addressed the situation stating that knowing the real worth of a player in today’s market is extremely difficult. Kean’s superb form does inflate his value but the current financial situation of clubs also needs to be taken into the account.

Leonardo is in love with Kean and wants to keep him in Paris beyond this season and might offer another loan deal but this time with a purchase option. The latest twist in this transfer tale is that Everton are open to a sale that too for a fair price. According to Le10 Sport, PSG can sign Kean from Everton for €30 million, as the Toffees look to recoup their initial investment in the 21 year old. However, PSG still count that figure to be overpriced.

Why is PSG unwilling to pay €30 million to Everton for Moise Kean?

It is hard to believe that this is the same club that spent €222 million and €145 million for Neymar and Kylian Mbappe is currently unwilling to even splash €30 million for Kean who could transform into a world class striker in the upcoming years.

However, we need to keep in mind that the Corona Virus pandemic has ravaged the finances of the football clubs and even the wealthiest clubs like PSG have to be very careful while spending in the next summer transfer window. Les Parisiens also have the renewals of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe on their to-do list which makes summer transfers even more difficult because of the astronomical wages the duo earns.

Apart from the forward duo, the renewals of Angel Di Maria, Juan Bernat and Julian Draxler also remain in the pipeline. The French giants acquired Danilo Pereira and Alessandro Florenzi on loan and if the club decides to exercise the purchase option, they’ll have to further splash more cash.

Heavy spending may not be the norm for PSG in the upcoming summer which will force them to compromise on certain fronts. Renewals of core players remain the highest on the priority list. In such a situation, PSG may hold onto its stance of having Moise Kean on another loan.
