Mason Mount, at times, has been the heartbeat of Chelsea
Mason Mount
Chelsea’s turbulent season, managerial change and arrival of big money stars hasn’t deterred Mason Mount from making a lasting impact on the pitch. When things started to go south under Lampard, Mount was their saviour of sorts.
He might have been too young and still in the embryonic phase of his Chelsea career to revive the team singlehandedly and avoid a Lampard sack, but he gave a glimpse of the burning fire in his belly for the Blue club of London.
Most recently, his individual brilliance gave the Blues the victory against Liverpool at Anfield, which now is becoming one of the easiest fixtures in English Football. Mount’s 100% determination and dedication in any given position is something that needs to be appreciated but for Everton that can be a cause of concern.
Playing in a 3-4-2-1, Mount has showcased his playmaking skills while undertaking responsibility of winning the ball back. This season, the 22 year old has averaged 4.82 shot creating actions per 90 minutes, 2.42 dribbles per 90 while also contributing defensively, attempting 2.37 tackles and having 207 touches in Chelsea’s defensive third.
Allan and Abdoulaye Doucoure will have a task on their hands to not only stop Werner but also the likes of Mason Mount or Hakim Ziyech who will play behind the striker.
