Silas Wamangituka has established himself as a hot property across Europe

According to Eurosport, VfB Stuttgart starlet Silas Wamangituka is attracting considerable interest from Premier League sides. Namely, Everton and Fulham are keeping a close eye on the Congolese player.

Everton fans may not have resonated with the name of Wamangituka until he was linked to the Toffees last week. The 21 year old is relatively unknown outside Germany but his performances this term have made him a hot prospect. Here are some important things to know about Wamangituka.

Silas Wamangituka’s background

Wamangituka grew up playing football on the streets of Kinshasa before he was spotted by Nicolas Anelka backed academy, Black Mountain Sport. The Congolese then joined Olympic Matete until 2017 before switching to Olympique Ales, a team in the French sixth tier.

In 2018, second tier side Paris FC came calling and Wamangituka joined the Ligue 2 side. Initially, then 18 year old spent time with the reserves but sighting his talent, Paris FC boss Mehmed Bazderevic gave him his break in the first team.

In his first season with Paris FC, the youngster notched 11 goals in 32 Ligue 2 games. Wamangituka’s next destination was already decided; he would join 2.Bundesliga side VfB Stuttgart for £7.2 million.

He showcased raw pace and power, contributing 8 goals and 8 assists in 31 games for Stuttgart. Die Swchaben finished second in the 2.Bundesliga table, achieving Bundesliga promotion. Coming into the Bundesliga, the level and difficulty may have enhanced but Wamangituka continues to turn eyes when he takes onto the pitch.

The 21 year old scored in a 3-2 loss to Freiburg on his Bundesliga debut. In the next game, Wamangituka impressed even more in a 4-1 victory against Mainz 05, scoring one and assisting one goal. His startling performances continued and he was awarded the Bundesliga rookie of the month award for December.

By the end of December, Wamangituka had seven goals and three assists to his name. While Stuttgart may have turbulent performances on the field, the 21 year old has not missed out on a single opportunity to impress.
