Silas Wamangituka style of play

Wamangituka had played as a centre forward for majority of his career but his arrival in Germany saw his true metamorphosis into a right wing back which allowed him to maximize the use of his strongest traits.

Pace and precision dribbling are Wamangituka’s best friends. When he arrived from Paris FC, Tim Walter was the Stuttgart manager. He was quick to recognize the positives and faults in Wamangituka’s play and came up with a solution. The Congolese, despite being a forward, was at times, poor in decision making in front of the goal. The German manager deployed him in the right wing back role in order to extract the best out of his attacking potential.

Current Stuttgart manager Pellegrino Matarazzo stuck with the same methods to allow Wamangituka to continue his development. The Congolese is well capable of playing on the right flank and has numbers to support his claim.

He has 53 successful dribbles, averaging 2.65 per 90 minutes. The Congolese has been extensively involved in the Stuttgart attack, averaging 2.75 shot creating actions, 19 touches in the final third per 90 minutes. He is still in the embryonic stages of his career and there is a big room for improvement. If he can continue the current momentum until the end of the season, Stuttgart’s wise investment will start to look like a highway robbery.
