Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti is planning a transfer return to his former club Real Madrid as he seeks to strengthen in the summer, according to reports this weekend.

There has been a lot of renewed speculation about possible transfer moves Everton might be considering and Ancelotti has spoken recently to dampen any excessive expectation about who could end up walking through the doors at Finch Farm this summer.

Sport witness though claim that after succesfully bringing James Rodriguez to the Blues last summer, Ancelotti is keen to add two more Real Madrid stars to Goodison Park when the window opens again later this year. They also say this move is important to keep his Colombian star Rodriguez happy, but that is highly speculative and very doubtful.

One of those players is someone who has been long linked with the Toffees, Spanish star Isco. The 28-year-old is another footballer Ancelotti knows well of course and as we’ve previously reported he does also seem to be out of favour at the Bernabeu.

Isco is a very talented all-round footballer who can play a number of midfield and attacking positions and according to Whoscored.com he is solid defensively as well as being a real creative and goal-scoring threat.

The other name mentioned is a newer one but a player who has again been supposedly on the Blues radar recently: Lucas Vazquez.

Vazquez is a right-sided defensive player who operates as a traditional right-back or can move further forward and will also offer genuine top class attacking support on the flank. Both these players would undoubtedly add, to use a pun, real quality and top-level experience.

I personally think Everton’s number one priority should be finding a right-winger/forward who can offer pace, creative flair and goals. But a quality right-back and central midfielder, (in particular one with the ability to contribute assists and a few goals), would both be sound and ideally, necessary additions.

Ancelotti has said there will only be ‘two or three’ new signings in the summer so were the club to move for these two that might be it as far as summer spending goes.

In addition, before any more signings come in you would expect that the Toffees have to get more of the squad players off their books and the wage bill.

The Blues have got Theo Walcott and Cenk Tosun out on loan until the end of the season. Hopefully, if all goes to plan both will be leaving this summer, whether that’s to the clubs they are playing for now or somewhere else.

Then there is Bernard. The Brazilian has played again recently but doesn’t seem to have a long-term future at Goodison. And that goes for other fringe squad players like Mohamed Besic.

Then finally there is the issue of Moise Kean’s future. The Italian striker has been thriving at PSG and despite all the at times contradictory stories swirling around him, I would be suprised to see him at Everton again next season.

At any rate whether there is anything to these latest rumours or not, it does seem that the club are in for another busy summer transfer window.
