Everton sit 6th with 46 points in  27 games

Everton welcome Burnley at Goodison Park on Saturday with an aim to bounce back from the away loss at Chelsea which brought an end to a stupendous run on the road. Be careful to not be too critical of the Stamford Bridge defeat as Thomas Tuchel flexed frightening Chelsea squad depth in the game and were far better in terms of quality, signalling that Everton still have work to do before they can be considered as a regular challenger for Europe.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side are currently four points adrift of top four and have one game in hand. A positive result against Burnley now becomes vital in the top four chase and Everton have very little room for error with the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United, Liverpool all contesting for the top four.

The Italian manager delivered bittersweet news as he announced the returns of Seamus Coleman, Yerry Mina and Tom Davies are all back but James Rodriguez, Abdoulaye Doucoure and Fabian Delph have been ruled out. The former Watford man suffered a small fracture that could potentially rule him out for the rest of the season. Gylfi Sigurdsson also remained a doubt as he had a problem with his ankle in the last game.

Here is the Everton predicted lineup vs Burnley:

Goalkeeper: Jordan Pickford

Jordan Pickford produced a tremendous display against Chelsea, pulling off eight saves throughout the game, showcasing the best version of himself this season. Pickford’s rich run of form has injected confidence and boosted his morale as Everton prepare for make or break period of the campaign.
