Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s goal gave Everton hope of a comeback

Attack:

Alex Iwobi – 5

Alex Iwobi played on the top of the midfield diamond, playing as a creator while also supplying pace and energy for Everton in the middle. Iwobi was finding space between the two bags of four before the momentum shifted Burnley’s way. His exploits in the No.10 role came to a premature end as Ancelotti changed the shape, sending Iwobi on the right wing. The Nigerian’s crossing quality was not up to the mark and was making far too many errors on the ball

Dominic Calvert-Lewin – 6

Dominic Calvert-Lewin reacted brilliantly to the Burnley goal, scoring and bringing Everton back in the game but that was pretty much it. There were chances where you’d expect the Englishman to finish but he failed to do so. There were half chances, opportunities where Calvert-Lewin could have been more decisive but much like the entire team, it just wasn’t happening for him.

Richarlison – 5

Richarlison had bright start to the game as he unleashed an early shot, unchallenged by the Burnley defence, forcing Nick Pope to make a save. He surely was giving a hard time to the Burnley defence from time to time but the famous Sean Dyche’s Rugby union coped brilliantly. At times, the Brazilian fizzled out and struggled to get hold of the ball regularly in the second half.
