According to new reports Everton are tracking another striker in the German Bundesliga as they are now being linked with a move for Sasa Kalajdzic.
This rumour comes from the Daily Express and other outlets as the paper claim that Everton have jonied their Merseyside neighbours Liverpool in the race for the forward tagged as the ‘next Erling Haarland’.
Well for a long time nearly every young starlet was labbeled as the next Lionel Messi or Ronaldo and now that Haaland is the hottest property in football then I guess it’s his turn now.
Anyway appararently the young Austrian international is highly rated and is attracting interest from several major clubs in Europe.
Kalajdzic is a VfB Stuttgart player and after struggling for form he has had a breakthrough year, which has catapulted him onto the radar of these clubs.
As a result he is likely to cost quite a lot in the upcoming summer transfer. He’s under contract until 2023 so that and his excellent form this season would presumably make for an expensive fee.
The 23-year-old is a very tall centre-forward who is great in the air and is a fine finisher with thirteen goals this season. He reminds me a bit of Peter Crouch another tall, gangly striker who played for the Reds and England. Kalajdzic also claims to be a Liverpool fan but we shouldn’t hold that against him.

He’s also quite similar to Dominic Calvert-Lewin in terms of his qualities and goal-scoring record and I can’t see the two of them playing together.
In addition, he’s a team-mate of another young forward who the Toffees have been linked with recently: Silas Wamangituka.
Like his Stuttgart forward partner, Wamangituka has been prolific in front of goal and he has netted eleven times himself.
He’s a more versatile player than Kalajdzic and interestingly he can also operate in a deeper more defensive role if needed. This would make him a good addition to the Blues squad allowing Everton to play a wing-back formation, which Carlo Ancelotti has used durring this campaign.
Wamangituka also likes playing on the right and enjoys cutting in from the flank. this is what the Toffees need to strengthen this side which is the weakest part of the current team.
Of the two then I think that Wamangituka is the better option of these two Stuttgart players and with his qualities would, at least on paper, make a solid new addition to the Everton attack.
