Everton sit 7th in the Premier League table with 46 points
Having defeated Liverpool 2-0 at Anfield after a 22 year-long wait, the new Bramley-Moore Dock Stadium being given the green light by the Liverpool City Council and currently fighting for European places in the Premier League with a game in hand, things are looking positive for Everton this season.
However, the season for Everton so far has been that of an inconsistent one. Fans could argue that the team is in a pretty decent position and might hopefully earn a place back in the Europa League but the reality is that this season has spared no one! Before the New Year no one could’ve believed that the top two teams during that time (Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur) would be languishing in 6th and 8th position respectively come March.
This has been a very competitive season with so many teams battling it out for European places. A string of poor performances can leave any club in a very bad position, now that there are only around 9-10 games left to play.
Everton managed to beat Liverpool, Southampton and West Brom in the previous few weeks but then lost to the likes of Burnley and Chelsea. Consistency is a must if Everton want to finish the season in the European competition spots. One way that can be done is through a tactical tweak which goes a long way!’
