Everton face competition from Marseille to land £29 million man
Everton transfer talk is picking up momentum as we inch closer to the summer transfer window. Carlo Ancelotti successfully carried out the first phase of his project last summer, attracting a world-class player in James Rodriguez and adding steel in midfield with Allan and Abdoulaye Doucoure. Though Ancelotti missed out on a technical genius in Adrien Rabiot, the Italian remains determined to try his luck again this summer with an increased probability of landing him.
It is no secret that Ancelotti and Everton have been interested in Juventus midfielder Rabiot. The failure to land him last season eventually saw the Toffees move for other midfield targets such as Allan and Doucoure but the need for another midfielder could push them to attempt Rabiot’s signing this summer.

Throughout the year, Rabiot has featured on the feed of Everton fans as multiple reports confirm the Toffees’ desire to sign him. If the Toffees do manage to achieve European qualification, a supremely talented midfielder of Rabiot’s stature can add further strengthen the engine room.
Andrea Pirlo is rebuilding the squad and remains open to the sale of Rabiot. Even though the 25-year-old has featured extensively in Pirlo’s plans, starting 17 of 24 Serie A games, Juve are open to offloading him if a significant offer arrives. The Turin based club want to get rid of his annual 7 million euros salary as they prepare to reduce the wage budget.
Everton face Adrien Rabiot competition
According to Tuttomercatoweb, Rabiot could be sold by the Old Lady. The Bianconeri will be hoping for a huge windfall as the Frenchman arrived on a free transfer in 2019. The former PSG midfielder remains a wanted commodity in the blue half of Merseyside which could possibly spark the talks of a possible swap deal between the two clubs.
Juventus want to sign Moise Kean back from Everton but PSG remain a stumbling block for the Serie A giants. The striker, on loan at PSG, is architecting his strongest season and producing goals at an outrageous rate.
The Parisiens are convinced of his qualities and want to redeem him permanently after the end of his loan spell. But, in the event of not being redeemed by PSG, Juventus will try to bring Kean to Turin. Coming back to Rabiot, Everton may have to fight competition as Marseille also remain in the hunt for the midfielder.
Rabiot is a player capable of orchestrating several roles in midfield. Proficient enough to play in a midfield pivot or a midfield three and carry out the duties of a deep-lying playmaker, Rabiot brings a different set of credentials to the table.
Ancelotti handed him his senior debut at PSG and was successful in bringing the best out of a midfielder who has often been criticized for showing a lack of intent and attitude. There are no doubts about Rabiot’s qualities and Ancelotti is a coach who is well aware of how to morph Rabiot in a way that he reaches his maximum potential.
