Everton may have to go on striker shopping this summer transfer window as Moise Kean is likely to bid adieu to Merseyside and Joshua King’s long term future in doubt. Andrea Belotti is one of the several strikers linked to the Toffees.

After yesterday’s bland and disappointing performance, the cries for another striker will intensify. Dominic Calvert-Lewin picked up a late injury, forcing Everton to go with just one forward in Richarlison. The goalscoring burden solely lied on the Brazilian’s shoulders and it was too much for him to handle as the 23-year-old failed to register a single shot on target.

Richarlison is a talented forward but needs support from attackers around him. Having DCL alongside him allows the former Watford man to move freely as Calvert-Lewin attracts attention and uses his physicality in the final third effectively to pose a serious threat. However, when Richarlison is the only focal point of the attack, he struggled to make an impact.

A rampaging forward like Belotti could do the trick for the Toffees. The Torino forward is reportedly considering his future at Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino. The captain will enter his final year of contract this summer and is yet to agree on a new deal with the Turin based side.

Several sides across Europe are carefully and closely following Belotti’s situation at Torino. The 27-year-old is one of the top forwards in Italy and Europe and could make a switch to a bigger club to prove his talent.

Torino are currently struggling in Serie A, just five points above the relegation zone. From Italy, AC Milan, AS Roma and Napoli are in the hunt to sign the 27-year-old. Belotti is also a wanted commodity in the Premier League as Chelsea and Everton have been named as potential suitors.

According to Calciomercato, Milan is in pole position to sign the I Granata forward. The Rossoneri are looking to tie down Zlatan Ibrahimovic on a new deal and are in fact very close to agreeing to terms with the 39-year-old warrior.

AS Roma are looking for an Edin Dzeko replacement who turned 35 last month whereas Napoli wants to further strengthen their strike force despite having Victor Osimhen and Dries Mertens in their ranks.

Everton are missing a forward of Belotti’s calibre who won’t actually act as a Calvert-Lewin backup but as a partner to the Englishman, further allowing Richarlison to operate wide. The Italian striker has a market value of £36 million (Transfermarkt) but considering he has just a little over one year left on his deal, Torino may have to cash in on him for a reasonable amount should Belotti refrain from signing a new deal.
