Everton play Tottenham Hotspur at Goodison Park
Everton welcome Tottenham Hotspur at Goodison Park on Friday evening. The game is very crucial for both sides and could potentially determine their fate in the race for Europe. Carlo Ancelotti’s side sit in 8th position with 48 points whereas Jose Mourinho’s side is one point and one position ahead of the Toffees, though, the hosts have one game in hand.
The Royal Blues do not boast an assuring recent form, failing to win any of their last four Premier League games. To add to Everton’s worries, their prime striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin remains sidelined due to an abductor problem. Yerry Mina, Bernard and Fabian Delph remain sidelined meanwhile Abdoulaye Doucoure and Jean-Philippe Gbamin are long term absentees.
Jordan Pickford, Allan, Joshua King and Andre Gomes finally are ready to feature. Reaching Europe is one of the most important and primary goals for Ancelotti and his team and defeating their direct rivals in the battle for European football will help them in the longer run. With the added pressure of European places, the Friday evening game holds significant value.
Here is the Everton predicted lineup vs Tottenham Hotspur:
Goalkeeper: Jordan Pickford
Jordan Pickford suffered an injury last month against Manchester City and has been out of action since then. His rib injury finally seems to have healed and is back to 100% fitness. Even though Robin Olsen has been decent he’ll make way for Pickford.
